Started The Next Volume Already

It's not titled yet, but I wanted to let everyone know that I have started writing the next volume in The Redgold Series already. I'm 3100+ words into it after a few hours.

And think, all I have is just about 70,000+ to go;) ...yeah me.

I also wanted to let everyone know that I might be going with another publisher for Demon Vampire: Redgold. There is good news and bad news to this. First, If I can get a different publisher, that will mean a greater number of people will be able to read the series. However, the bad portion is that this process will take longer even if I am not able to get the new publisher. About 4-6 months in total. I will be submitting next week and beginning the long process. But as of now, it looks like Redgold is going to be delayed at least until May 2013.

There is a plus side to this. The re-edit of Demon Vampire will be released sooner than later. Along with the errors, the book will be getting a marginal re-write. I will be adding six completely new chapters to the book. To those of you that have already purchased and read the book, don't fret. I will be posting a link to read the new chapters on the blog for free. That way you don't have to re-buy the book in order to know the addition to the story.

The Sub-Chapters Red and Black, as I call them, are dreams that Zack has involving some of the other characters. It plays more to establish the romance between Zack and Kyli and gives a better sense of their connection throughout the series. It is an important set of chapters that will be an on-going them in the later books. I will be listing where these chapters are located, as them have no actual chapter number to them. That's why they don't interfere with the story in the way adding a new chapter to an already finished book might do. They are windows into the story that haven't been explored yet. It's kind of like the first chapter, but lighter and it will make more direct sense;)

I have also found out that the Dover, DE, Acorn Books Signing will be set in January. The date isn't final yet, so I will keep you all posted.

Sincerely,

Virgil Allen Moore

You Are All Going To Love This

In the past year, there have been a few comments about the editing of Demon Vampire.

"Don't complain, just throw someone under the bus and make sure no one sees you driving it."

My editor, Alan Taylor, at Erudite Small Press is a good man. He started Erudite with a goal of getting into the Publishing Industry. He saw the potential in my story and did the best he could in editing it's 242,000+ words over the course of four months. He did a pretty good job. Better than I did. I unfortunately have never been know for being perfect in the world of grammar. I learned poetry and old English, and read Gothic works before any real modern writing. It skewed my take on everything to come. That said, Alan did what he could.

On October 30th, 2012, the publishing rights contract for Demon Vampire was lifted. Meaning that they no longer own the print rights to the book. With this in mind, I offered Alan a deal. I bring in a new editor for book two and he lets me publish it under his label. He enjoyed the idea and added a bonus. Demon Vampire will be sent back to editing.

That's right, Demon Vampire will be rewritten.

There will also be a few more additions to the already long book. A few plot holes will be discussed. Or at least explained. (I rarely leave anything out due to error. It's more part of a much larger picture.) Also, the book will be split into three. Making each book about 83,000+ words after the rewrite. Around 350 pages or so. Much more manageable than before. No more chapters that leave you looking for a life preserver in the sea of pages. All these issues of this will be addressed.

This means that the current "Book Two" that I just finished, will actually be book four. Don't worry, this one won't be a back breaking edition. It will be about 290 pages in total.

There is also a surprise that I will be announcing at the book signing. Granted, there hasn't been a date set for it yet, but I will be timing it around that event. Trust me, you will all enjoy it. I will be talking about a few things that will happen in Demon Vampire: Redgold as well. And as I mentioned earlier, I will be taking email addresses at the book signing to send out the first chapter of Demon Vampire: Redgold.

For now, know that I have a lot in store for the series. And to be sure to tell your friends about the book. If this is going to be made into a movie, I'll need all the support I can get.

Holy Freakin' Expletive!!!! I've Finished Book Two!!!!

That's right, Today I reached a point of clarity that I haven't found in a long while. I wrote the last 11,000 words of book two in The Redgold Series.

This put the book at about 274 pages in total. Of course editing still needs to be done on it and it won't come out for a few more months, but it's one more step towards being able to be read by everyone. Of course those that had pre-ordered book one a year ago will be getting an advance chapter before everyone else. All you have to do is email me at virgilallenmoore@live.com and I'll confirm that you bought the book in pre-order. From there, I'll email you the first chapter of book two. And maybe a little extra news about the series too. You'll just have to email me to find out what though;)

Also, I have some more news about the book signing. Because the eye of the hurricane made landfall in Dover, DE, the city is still repairing things and getting back on track. Unfortunately, a grand opening doesn't appear to be a high priority when people need roads cleared and power restored. I can whole-heartedly understand that at least, but the time frame may be pushed back as far as December, possibly even January or February. So as usual I will keep you all posted as to when the signing will occur.

In the meantime, I will be sending out two signed books to the Acorn Books store along with a full sized poster. The same poster that on the day of the signing I will be giving away to one faithful fan.

So for now, email me about book two, and expect big news about the whole series soon.
