Silence Can Be A Terrifying Thing, Esspecially In The World Of Vampires

10/30/2011 Demon Vampire was released. Amazon.com and kindle were supposed to have their copies on hand to supply the projected 34,000+ buyers that day. Unfortunately, That didn't happen. Amazon choose to stock far less than needed in response to all the pre-orders that had come in. It resulted in Amazon.com listing the book as "Out of print - Limited Availability" Which means that they don't have any more on hand to ship out. As of yesterday, that situation is being dealt with. More books in larger quantities have been shipped to Amazon. They should be in stock as soon as next week.

Demon Vampire on kindle also had it's upsets. With the addition of SSR 1192 hitting the kindle shelf the same day, Amazon decided to wait to post Demon Vampire. The main issue was that SSR 1192 was published under Erudite Small Press, but uploaded by myself. The details of the transaction are as follows: Demon Vampire (the e-rights and print rights were) sold to Erudite Small Press. SSR 1192 was not sold, but conditionally offered to be part of the collected works published under Erudite Small Press. Meaning that even though they would not receive profit from that ebook, they were counting on the flagship of Demon Vampire to more than make up for SSR 1192 (Primarily because SSR 1192 would be offered on the blog for free.) Amazon took the upload and was confused as to who owned the e-rights to Demon Vampire on kindle. Thankfully, that matter is sorted out as of now and you can buy Demon Vampire on kindle for $2.99 using this link.

Since the launch day of the book, there were other issues as well. My twitter feed, facebook, and even blogger were found to have glitches that day. My twitter account especially had to have maintenance done on that day, shutting down all scheduled tweets announcing the book release. Facebook didn't allow me to log in during several key points in the day. Finally, Blogger didn't register any viewers of the post that I did send out the night before. In addition to that, blogger sent the post out 18 hours late.

There were many upsets this week and thankfully they have been taken care of and will be resolved soon.

ATTENTION Amazon.com Buyers!!!
If you bought a print copy of Demon Vampire and were sent a message asking if you still wanted the book due to a delay in shipping, click YES! The book will be in far sooner than the date they projected.

Thank you for your patience, patronage, and loyalty. You are the reason why I keep writing.

Sincerely,

Virgil Allen Moore

I was planning on ordering it from Amazon (print version) but was unable to place a pre-order since I didn't have the money at the time. Now the book appears only available through Amazon Market and they only work within the USA (and I'm in Chile). Boo!

Oh well. I'll wait and see if they renew their stock and it begins to be sold directly from Amazon. :)

In the meantime, grats on the release of the book!

Dear Andrea,

I have made sure that Amazon has plenty of copies on hand to ship to you in Chile.

I trust you will enjoy the book as I planned. Please let me know if you need anything else.
