     Of the four hundred alteration vampires that came, four were chosen. Of the seventy eight focus vampires that sought them out, two survived. And of the three psychic vampires that actually arrived, their hopes high with dreams of lust, power, and gifts, one was damned to be selected.
     That night seven vampires were changed. Seven were found to be able. Six were willing, one was not.
