A Night At Tears Of Crimson By Michelle Hughes

A Night at Tears of Crimson is a book for those wanting to experience the life of a character and each dream they once held.

The book is written by Michelle Hughes. It has a welcome style that invites you in from page one. The characters are well assembled and the main protagonist is seated well in reality from the beginning. Without giving anything away of the events, A Night at Tears of Crimson is a well balanced read that flows well and reads better. If you have ever enjoyed people that have history in their lives, or the city of New Orleans in general, this book is for you.

You can find A Night at Tears of Crimson on paperback and Kindle. Simply click on the words to follow them to their respective formats.

I enjoyed the book and I believe that if you liked Demon Vampire, you will enjoy A Night at Tears of Crimson by Michelle Hughes.

Calling All Artists!!!

Demon Vampire has hit well over 40,000+ hits. I know this post should have come sooner, but time willing, it's here now.

I wanted to announce a new project for the coming year.

I will be searching for an artist to illustrate three scenes from Demon Vampire. It will be a promotional tool to showcase the artist's abilities and to display some of the best scenes of Demon Vampire.

This is an open call project, but all entries must submit three images or panels showing their style and technique. To give a better direction of the type of art work I am aiming for, look up any Top Cow comic book, that is the type of art I am searching for. It is easy and quick to draw, but still requires talent to pull off correctly.

If you are interested in this project, contact me directly at virgilallenmoore@live.com and we will talk.

The Only Vampire Novel That Vampires Actually Approve

If you had to choose power, grace, and immortality at the cost of your soul, would you? What if the choice was easier than you think? Small, incremental segments of strength for a few childhood memories? The ability to accomplish your dreams, your desires, for the corners of your mind you don't often use? What if you could have everything you ever wanted and the only price would be the things that make you who you are? What would you do? Faced with a grave choice of morality, what would you choose?

That is the choice of one Zack Giver as you read through Demon Vampire. It is a moral option that the characters and onlookers alike have to decide. The personal consequences are dire and the lifelong effects are more so. To lose one's soul is not a lofty aim. Though we all strive to protect the innocents around us. Demon Vampire holds those choices accountable as you soar through 500 pages of epic paranormal dark mystery to not only find you own answers, but more importantly, your own reasons that define your choices.

"So sweet was the wet rain flowing through the throat of life. Kissing the sky, a nimble tongue tithed over a sharp tooth. He was esurient. The demon inside dripped with excitement. Wet senses, tense thoughts played in his mind."

Those are the words you will read upon opening Demon Vampire for the first time. Mark them well, as they are the gateway to your understanding of the novel as a whole. They hold more information than you will care to give them your first time passing through.

Demon Vampire is an intricate read that begs to be read time and again. The plot is a woven rope that binds the wide reaching cast of characters together in a way that few have ever seen.

Read up to chapter three of Demon Vampire for free on the right hand side of the blog. You can also download the pdf and read it on your eReader. Know that as much that happens in the first chapters in my book are more than the bulk of what happens in other novels. Demon Vampire is a iron will that yearns to be read. Give it the honor it deserves, download it tonight and buy it on kindle for only three dollars. If you enjoy vampires, you will be enthralled by mine.

Demon Vampire is available on Amazon.com right now in print and as an ebook.

Demon Vampire has over 14,000+ followers over twitter, facebook/FB page, blogger, and getfanged.com. Together we can spread the word about Demon Vampire. If everyone tells two people about the book, there will be a ground-breaking accomplishment: A World Record. Yes, you read correctly. The Guinness World Record for the most books sold in a single day is just over 40,000 books. If every person that gets this message tells two people, Demon Vampire will sell 42,000+ books on day one - Setting a new World Record in the process. But remember, we can't do it alone. Tell two friends about Demon Vampire right now, tell more if you think they would enjoy such a revolutionary book. Together we can change the stakes and show that a new book can set a world record.

Update on Demon Vampire Special Science Report 1192

It's been two months since Demon Vampire: Special Science Report 1192 was announced and work began on the project. The novella side story is set to be released on the same day as Demon Vampire. It is the second book in The Redgold Series. SSR 1192 takes place directly after the end of the main novel Demon Vampire.
In the novella, the main character Herald is tasked with proving vampires don't exist. After a land-holding vampire in Europe awakens to his holdings being seized, several vampires decide to come forward with their presence. It is concluded that losing the collective land would be too much of a nuisance to their continued financial plans. Coming out is the only way to protect their investments as a whole. On the other side of this is Herald Thompson, a laboratory researcher for ten years. He is offered the lead position and the direct goal of disproving that vampires exist. A man of science, Herald finds the mere idea of the subject obtuse. He wants to get the job done and move on. That is until the initial results come back. The hard science begins to challenge everything he knows about human life. The next year of his life alters his views of morality and what it means to be human.
SSR 1192 will be a companion novella to the Demon Vampire storyline of The Redgold Series. It will be a free download offered to everyone regardless of buying the main novel.

Vampire Books

If you are looking for an awesome vampire book, Demon Vampire is for you. Vampire books as of late have been crude, and too romantic for those of us that want something better. The vampire books out there are sad at best. Demon Vampire is the answer to your woes.

Vampires Are Only Vampires When They Are Respected By Other Vampires

There was a time when vampires were respected by other vampires. It was some decades ago, but it did exist. The vampires of today have let themselves weaken to the level of those publicized movie vampires. There has been talk of vampires that hiss, that growl, and sparkle. Pointless posturing that leads to pathetic bravadoes of power and speed. Vampires are elegant and terrifying. They do not need to do such simple things to threaten. Their very existence is a threat to others. They are predators, the rest of us are not. They show the restraint needed to coexist in the dark circles they operate in.
With a true vampire, there is control. There is a level to which no one will ever understand. To immerse themselves among people, among food, and refrain from eating is a display of will in itself. To still a hand in front of a loudmouth that doesn't know any better is a testament to strength and nobility. The vampire I keep close to my heart never tells someone they are going to die. They merely kill them. There is a directness that has been lost in today's vampire.
In the era of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, there was a sense of honor, of elegance in action. A power that knew nearly no bounds under the dark night's sky. It is that reverence I aim to resurrect. There are moments one recalls when they cherish something. Thoughts, sensations of smell, touch, a serenity that is equaled by few things. To stand before a vampire and know, not wonder, that you are alive because they have chosen to keep you so. To read a line, to let the words lift off the page as you mind dazzles to the world that has been crafted for you alone. There is a magnificence in that which no other can feel or know. It is unique and personal to each.
Vampires need to have their time of respect again. If another vampire cannot honor the domains of even a fictional vampire, we have been lost and need to be found. Thankfully, these dark days are almost over. The nights of elegance, strength, and honest fear will be brought back. On Devil's Night 2011, Demon Vampire will be released. Ushering in a new season of true vampires.
Understand that once you enter, you will never wish to return. Bring all that you are with you. The door does not forgive tardiness or indecision. Your thoughts will be tested, your morality will be confronted. Demon Vampire is not for those hoping to find another vampire story that is entertaining. It is for those that aim to understand the woes of what it means to break in to a knowledge that few will ever experience in this life. From the second it is opened, your perception will be altered and the door will be closed.

The Full Marketing Plan for Demon Vampire

As it stands, this is the full plan for my rise to the best seller lists of the nation.
With the book Demon Vampire written, I have two other novels in the series to write. Demon vampire: Special Science Report 1192, and Demon Vampire: The Elder Ritual. When they are completed, I will have three books under one purpose to further my writing career. Since Demon Vampire is an Epic Paranormal Dark Fiction about vampires, the market for it is a hard sale for a publisher, more so for an agent unless they have the ability to branch out. Considering there aren't many single vampire novels over 230,000+ words out there, taking me on will require an act of faith in my abilities as a writer.
So far I have established myself on facebook and twitter, gaining over 400+ friends/ followers on each. I have written near a hundred posts and keep the frequency to about once a week. The foot hold I have made has allowed me to prosper. I have put together a press kit, a publisher's kit, and an endorsement kit. As of this post, I have not yet decided on a final design for the art of the bookmarks, but I have arranged them into three groups. The first book mark is of Zack on one side and Kyli on the other. The title on both sides, the website as well. The second will be Yugo and Marin, the third will be Salas and Malio. There will also be a 4 x 6 mini-poster of an attractive looking Kyli on one side and a handsome Zack on the other. Both pieces will be incorporated into each kit.
Once I am picked up by an agent, the major work will begin. I will start the official endorsement searching. I will be submitting to celebrities, famous writers, even bands that have a tie in to the book Demon Vampire. With an endorsement, the book will gain a needed sense of added quality, elevating it to a higher status than it already is.
During the time in which the book is being sold to a publisher, I will be sending out review kits to certain reviewers. The top reviewers on Amazon, people on other review websites as well will all get a copy of a Demon Vampire advance copy. Eventually the reviews will come back and I will begin the selection of them.
When the book is published I will begin a viral marketing campaign. Each person that follows me on this blog will get a free eBook of Demon Vampire: Special Science Report 1192. They will be told to give the book to everyone they know that might like it. As well as to tell five people of the book in person in exchange for the generosity of getting an eBook for free. There will also be instructions on how to get another eBook, Demon Vampire: The Elder Ritual, for free. If they send in a list of 20 email address and they those people later sign up to follow the blog, they will get the second eBook. Inside they are told to tell ten people in person and that they can have their own copy of the full Demon Vampire book , signed by the author, sent to their house for free. To do so, they are required to send in 50 emails and have them sign up to be followers as well. This way each person that comes to the site informs up to 85 people of the book. Even if they don't tell the 15 people, the number stands at 70. If they think signing up 50 people in order to get Demon Vampire is too much, they will simply buy it directly off the site. The same is true for the second eBook, if signing up 20 people is too much, they can buy the book for a few dollars on the site. Again each copy instructs the reader to spread the word about the book and tells them how to gain the other two eBooks. Each new person that comes across the site will tells others and continues the process.
From here, the real work begins. Sending to every newspaper, every book review blogger, every magazine, and every journalist that is appropriate for the book Demon Vampire. The rest of the endorsements are sent out. I will send out the distributor kits to the national, regional, and local distributors. I will place an ad in the national publishing trade magazine that my book is available and that I am able to take interviews via radio, podcast, television, and print.
The book itself will have a message directly on the cover. "The only epic vampire novel guaranteed to be a page turner, or the author will buy it back." As well as a stick that will say "$30 in free eBooks, details inside! Chance to win a free signed poster each month, no purchase necessary." This is a marketing device used to provide a complete risk reversal on the potential buyer. If they are told that the author himself will buy the book back, it removes their fear of being suckered by an inferior novel. If the author has such confidence in the novel that he will guarantee its quality, the reader is able to make a worry free decision about purchasing the book. The added $30 in eBooks gives an extra for buying this novel. It allows the reader to gain access to more of the story for no more investment on their part. This I assume will be a wonderful marketing tactic since my publisher will not be affected by it. If a book is returned at the bookstore, it has a potential to impact their bottom line. This way, it only influences mine. And since I have a truly amazing product, I have the reassurance that I will not get many returns through this offer.
I will be contacting the Red Cross to set up a charity event for the book to benefit them and their national disaster relief efforts. The event will be held on my publication date. I will invite celebrities that have a tie in to the book Demon Vampire or otherwise have a connection to the Red Cross' efforts. I will be inviting Marilyn Manson, HIM, Don Henrie, Buckethead, and any other group or persons that may want to gather for the charity event. I will be donating half the profits of the books sold at the event to the Red Cross, as well as auctioning off a signed copy of the book Demon Vampire that includes the printed versions of Demon Vampire: Special Science Report 1192 and Demon Vampire: The Elder Ritual. This will be a completely unique book that will be one of a kind for the benefit of the Red Cross directly.
The combined effects of the viral marketing program with the culmination of the charity event will cause the book to be asked about in every city that the event is covered in. On top of that, each newspaper and magazine that wrote a review on the book will have readers that will ask their local book store about the book. The stores in turn will already have the book, or if they didn't already obtain it they can request it from their local distributors which will already have a listing for the book because of my earlier efforts to submit to them.
The book should hit the San Francisco Chronicle's Bestseller list a few weeks after the pub date. A few weeks later, it should hit The New York Times Bestseller list. I will be hiring a publicist to set up press releases, print ads, and to book my for radio/television interviews.
I will try to do two radio interviews a week on the subject of morality. Yes, you read it right, morality. The book, Demon Vampire is at its heart a morality tale. Would you sell your soul to protect everyone you knew and to save your own life? It is a powerful question that invokes a great deal of emotion.
From there, the next step is to translate Demon Vampire into other languages and sell it in the respective countries. Mandarin, Spanish, Japanese, Russian, Gaelic, and finally Braille for good measure. Then the book will be recorded into an English audio version, then into the audio versions of the above languages. The books will be sold to publishers in each field of their respective countries. The world-wide sales will climb and the royalties will come in as I write the sequel to the book entitled Demon Vampire: Redgold.
The book will be sent to production studios in an attempt to raise attention to the possibility of the movie rights being sold. At this point I will be contacting companies that have a possible tie in with the book for sponsorship rights and merchandising rights. I will be contacting little known fashion designers that have a Gothic style that are willing to work with me. I will have a fashion line created in conjunction with the book. I will be contacting ASUS to create a licensed version of the same netbook that I wrote the story itself on. With these products and more, I will ensure continued exposure of the book.
With this plan, I will make the book Demon Vampire a success. The plan can still be modified, but it can only be improved upon in the future. In the meantime, I hope this information helps anyone seeking to build a marketing plan in the future.

Vampeal The Book. A Young Adult Novel For Those Still In School

I will be releasing an alternate version of the novel Demon Vampire entitled "Vampeal." It is a full length novel, under 100,000 words. It is intended for the young adult audience as a summer reading program with back of the book review questions. The recommended age for Vampeal is 13-18, as opposed to 16-35 with Demon Vampire.
The main difference in the storylines is that the actual demon vampires that exist in the larger novel are not present in the book Vampeal. Hence the toned down version. There is not as much sex, violence, and overall blood. The story as a whole of much lighter. With that said, it is still a work of Young Adult Dark Fiction.

As to the release date of Vampeal. I will be sending out queries to agents that would otherwise not accept the book Demon Vampire in a few weeks. Once I have an agent, my goal is to sell the book in just as many avenues as Demon Vampire. Different languages, audio books, even braille.

I will as always provide updates on my progress.

Redgold, The Rite Of Passage Into Vamparism.

What is Redgold? It is crystallized vampire blood. When blood is collected from a fallen vampire, it can be stored until the next solar eclipse. At that time, it is placed in a container that will allow the light to penetrate it. Over the course of the eclipse, the blood hardens and forms a solid crystal that has unique properties. The original use is to transform a vampeal into a full vampire. It is referred to as The Ritual of Redgold. It can be consumed, or smashed into an open wound to enter the blood stream directly. If taken by a human, it has miraculous healing powers. It can revive almost sure death. If ingested by another vampire, it is poison. The strength of which is measured in the age of the vampire used for the Redgold. The greater the age, the stronger the effect of the poison.
There is a second side to Redgold. It can be made from a vampeal which makes the result very different. It is a poison to humans. It does nothing to vampires. However, it greatly affects other vampeals. It can permanently transfer the gift of one vampeal to the consumer of the Redgold.

Continued Comment On Trepidation, TO Publish Or Self Publish.

As of this date, I am still leaning towards a large publisher.
As far as a marketing plan. This is what I have come up with so far.
     1. Send a press kit to the 150 book reviewers that are appropriate for my genre. That is once I have a pub date.
     2. Send to like authors in my genre that might be able to comment on the book.
     3. Get listed in the major national distributors around the country by sending out media kits to each of them.
     4. Send media kits out to the regional distributors around the country. There aren't that many, but it's a few.
     5. Send out media kits to every small distributor in every city that I had already sent press kits to the same reviewers.
     6. Send out Tip Sheets, author info, ordering info, and free bookmarks to every store within 150 miles of each city that the previous mentioned press kits was sent to each reviewer.
     7. Call local radio stations in my genre that have on regular guests.
     8. Call syndicated radio shows in my genre to become a guest. Tie in the appearance to a recent news angle that is prominent in the national news at that time.
     9. Place at ad in the nation media magazines listing that I am available for interviews. There is a service that does this for about $300/month. I will be paying for this service. All you do is fill out a survey with them, send in a photo, and let the calls come directly to you.
     10. Send postcards to every major, regional, and local news agency that has a major story that I can tie into. Have the postcards say something related to the event and my book. This is a direct media tie in. Sending out at least 500 postcards. Kinkos in helpful in a rush. But your contact list must be extensive before this is done. I've bought a book that lists media contacts. Email me if you want the info on the contacts.
     11. Make appearances at regional writer's conferences. Since I have a visual aesthetic, I milk it. I tie in my over all look to the mystique of my novel. Making appearances when you have a visual hook is good because it starts conversations. I will be pitching my novel to publicists while there.
     12. Hire a publicist. Have them arrange radio interview that I could not while doing initial marketing for the book. Have them arrange television interviews at local news stations and minor shows.
     13. Submit distribution info to amazon.com's kindle service. Call for follow up two weeks later.
     14. Send author press kits to celebrities that have a vesting interest in my genre or topic. I.e. Artists, Musicians, Actors, Directors.
     15. Have a ten minute semi professional book trailer that closely resembles a movie trailer placed on youtube.com. Hiring college actors, pro make up artists, a college director, pro photographer, and skilled college editors. Place video on website, the amazon page that lists the pre-release sales info, and on every video outlet possible.
     16. Promote the video on twitter, facebook, and every other quick social site possible.
     17. Make personal author videos detailing the world of the book. Shot at home with a good set up and an interesting backdrop.
     18. Ant video interviews that are done, place copies streaming on the main site and promote them on twitter, facebook, and youtube.
     20. Well as you can see I can go all day with this subject. There are many things to be done and that's just what I would have to do when I can a large publisher. There are some outlets that won't even talk to you unless you have a named publisher. It seems wrong, and it is, but it's their way of quality control. I don't agree with it, but I will adhere to it. Plus there is the added benefit that with a formal publisher, there comes an advance. Even though it may not be that much, it does help pay for the cost of the marketing. Postage is the real killer here. That and the cost of the actual press kit to be sent out. Sending a book, six sheets of paper, a folder with two cover inserts, a bookmark, and a business card adds up quick. Considering that this list is not even my complete marketing plan, or that it does show what the actual cost of everything is, once again I put forth the statement that I plan on finding a large publisher. To foot the bill myself would be difficult to put it financially.

I hope that this helps.

Sincerely,
Virgil Allen Moore

A Comment About A Book On Real Vampires

I wonder if the book makes the distinction between Sanguinary Vampires and Psychic Vampires. Being that I have met both. The experiences are very difference.
A blood drinking vampire has a healthy glow to them, as do most people that consume animal blood on a constant basis. I have seen feats of strength from seemingly frail men, and amazing balance from them. As to the obvious question of longevity, it is taboo to ask. So I never do. Accelerated healing is fascinating to see, but it happens much slower in real life than in most novels, including mine. The idea of a wound instantly healing over is fictional. It usually takes pressing the injury shut, then concentrating to seal it. After that comes a good one to two hours. Then, finally, the wound is mostly healed, even from the outside. The cut is gone, the blood reabsorbed. It is quite an honor to see it happen.
A psychic vampire is special. In my opinion, they can be quite fun too. simply standing next to one on a "good" or "positive" day is astounding. They can do many things, such as give you the sensation of touch without touching, or even cause you to have an honestly great, or as some would say, "lucky" day.
On the topic of morality, many cultures around the world drink blood to help sustain their life. It's only here that we entertain the idea of drinking human blood. Not to say there is any wrong with it if done with a willing partner and in moderation. Safety is always key in this area.
All said, I like the idea of this book and will be buying it as soon as I finish a little work on my own.

To read about the same type of vampires that Anne Rice was so famous for displaying, visit my site to keep up with the news on the book, Demon Vampire.

Silver Is A Human's Best Friend. Know When To Wear It And When You're Just Being Rude.

A vampire doesn't like silver because it causes a rash, irritations, and slows the regenerating process. It does not kill them, but it is a ward. As a human, I wear silver. Small charms, trinkets, objects, they all have a clear purpose - They show that I am not a vampire. It is a good distinction to display. However, if one were to be in the presence of a real vampire, it is just plain rude. Silver is a symbol of offense to vampires if worn by a human. It is important to know when and where to wear silver. When I go to events of the general public, I obviously wear it. When I go to a private location, I never do.
However, there is one thing I am never without. A silver pen. Personal prefference is to just not take it out.

Vampire Sense Of Touch. How Subtle Is Their Light Hand?

A vampire always has a wonderful sense of touch. Their skin is smooth, the sensation is constantly accurate. The feeling of water cascading down the back of their hand is a timeless act. Each moment is a measure in their restraint. Each action is met with care and precision. The strength, the pressure in their fingers is overwhelming. To have one grace you is a treasured memory to hold.
Damage to a vampire doesn't affect their feeling of what is happening to them. a bullet in a vampire's flesh still hurts as much if it were in a human. The difference is that the vampire won't pass out from the pain. They simply learn to accept it as a part of life. A natural occurrence of their nightly incursions. There is no limit to the pain a vampire can endure other than death itself. Vampires do not enjoy sharing this fact. The younger ones feel it is an embarrassment. The older vampires consider it a mark of age to withstand higher levels of torture and destruction.
A vampeal in sharp contrast feels the first cut of damage very well. After that, their autonomic anesthetic kicks in (the body's own pain killers). At which point, the area is partially numb. It does not return until the damage has been repaired.
A demon vampire is more special still. They know pain, but are able to ignore it with little effort. Their sheer power eliminates the need for a lightening of damage. Their skin is beyond steel, it is perfect.

The Right Amount of Blood For A Vampire. How Many Pints Is Just Right?

How much blood would a vampire drink if a vampire could drink forever? The answer is in the question. Forever. A vampire could drink endlessly. But just then what is the right amount? How much blood is the perfect daily volume? It depends on the vampire. The age, the gift, the preference, and the strain. A new vampire requires two pints of blood. After a few years a vampire's need reduces. One pint nightly will suffice. After one hundred years the requirement is only one pint every two to three days. At two hundred years, One pint a week sates the vampire. Beyond three hundred years, a vampire requires a pint a month. at five hundred plus years, the vampire only needs a pint a year to survive.
A vampire's gift also adds to their need for blood. A focus vampire needs the least amount of blood. A psychic vampire needs an increased volume of blood. An alteration vampire requires the most blood. Each type needs more blood as they use their gift more.
A vampeal varies in their needs. If they want to have increased power and strength, they need one gallon of blood a day. Two gallons if they want to remain the same age. If they choose to abstain, they require nearly nothing. A pint a week sustains them, or a few rare steaks.
A demon vampire needs two pints of blood a day, always. The more blood, the quicker their power grows. Once they reach 300,000 bodies' worth of blood, their higher gift becomes available. Allowing them to enact massive damage on the population.
